The International Geospatial Services Institute was founded in 2007 by Dr. Ingo Simonis and Martin Klopfer.
IGSI is a limited company, based in Emden, Germany, which provides a unified corporate umbrella for key European consultants to address core topics of information service interoperability and to advance appropriate industry standards according to European requirements.
The portfolio of the International Geospatial Services Institute is designed to provide vendor-neutral consultancy and support to organizations interested in capturing the benefits of open standards based information services. This includes the development of plans, budgets and procurement definitions to implement such solutions and operational elements consistent with return on investment expectations and mission objectives.
The OGC processes for architecture development, proof of concept and procurement readiness services are efficient and able to produce usable results in minimum time and at minimum cost. IGSI has developed a suite of service offerings that span the environment from standards to customer adoption of and migration to interoperable processing. The applied project management and technical approaches are closely aligned to the proven processes and procedures of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC): with a strong focus on geospatial services, a close link need to be maintained so that projects carried out by iGSI can complement activities of the OGC and provide added value, both to consortium membership as well as the global standardisation processes.
These service offerings, with the support of IGSI partner organisations, can be combined and tailored in a variety of ways to meet customer requirements and circumstances, while providing the right level of level of critical mass attention and resources to derive sought after results and benefits.
